National Center for Healthcare Informatics Grant Development

 

The Healthcare Industry has expierenced an amazing growth within the last quarter of a century yet, the growth of the industry is not being accompanied by a concurrent growth in strength and stability. In fact, just the opposite is currently taking place. The health care industry, one of the giants in the country is also one of the most fragile.

It is the the aim of the NCHCI to solicit and administer regional and national grants to develop new and innovative technologies and methodologies for practical application within the health care informatics field. Primary focus of the National Center For Health Care Informatics is the development of efficient health data management systems as well as the development of highly trained and skilled individuals who will serve to bridge the growing gap between clinical and information systems professionals. Primary objectives for this Center include:

  • To provide a national reference and network center that can serve the health care professionals practicing in the area of healthcare information technology in the United States.
  • To provide a business incubator to encourage and foster the development of new and innovative solutions to existing and future health care information challenges.
  • To provide a continuing education resource.
  • Solicit and administer regional and national grants to develop new and innovative technologies and methodologies for practical application within the health care informatics field.
