Sierra Leone is a West African country with one of the highest maternal and newborn death rates in the world.  These women and babies do not have die; their lives can be saved with simple, affordable interventions. 

• 5 dollars provides a vial of oxytocin to prevent a woman from bleeding to death from a post-partum hemorrhage
• 15 dollars provides a vial of magnesium to prevent life-threatening seizures from toxemia
• 20  dollars provides a training and reference manual for emergency obstetrical care for a physician or midwife a birth attendant
• 30 dollars provides a bag and mask to resuscitate an asphyxiated newborn
